How Allguard Roofing swapped Golden Pages for Google, and switched their ads off
Allguard Roofing is a Dublin roofing contractor. They came to thenet.ie in 2013, spending heavily on Golden Pages print advertising and knowing the work was moving online. Over the twelve years since, we moved them onto digital and grew it. By 2026 organic Google search and their local listing were bringing in more work than they could handle — so they switched their Google Ads off.
The client. Allguard Roofing provides new roof installation, flat roof repairs, lead roofing and skylight repairs across Dublin. They came to us as an established trade business that had always found its work through print.
Their customers were moving to Google.
Their marketing ran on Golden Pages print advertising — an expensive channel with shrinking reach. They could see their customers moving to Google, and they needed to make the switch to digital without losing the steady stream of work the print listings brought in.
Work came in through Golden Pages print advertising — costly, with reach shrinking year on year as customers moved online.
A roofing website that ranks on Google, plus a local listing that brings the calls in — work earned, not paid for.
Built the site, won the rankings, ran the rest.
One team that knows their business and answers the phone — we designed, built, marketed and have managed the whole thing ever since.
Website & SEO
Ads, local & ongoing
From paying for visibility to earning it.
In early 2025, paid ads — search, video and display — were still driving around four in ten visits to the site. By 2026, with the ads switched off, organic Google search was bringing roughly two-thirds of the traffic. The site now shows up across the main Dublin roofing searches, and the brand is strong enough that people search for Allguard by name.
Their local presence does the heavy lifting now — real work and real enquiries coming in without a cent of ad spend. And the clearest result of all: the organic and local work became so reliable that Allguard switched their Google Ads off, because they couldn’t service the volume coming in. Twelve years on, they’re still with us and the business has grown substantially across that time.

“Been working with the team for over ten years, they have done an amazing job with our roofing website. Always on the other end of the phone when we need them and happy to help.”
